

“Get, set, go!” My coach blew the whistle. Every runner including me shot forward, our shoes pounding against the ground, the anger and determination visible in everyone's eyes. I kept my pace slow, letting everyone else drain their energy and saving mine for the last minute. The cold morning air hit my face as I fastened my speed and sprang into action. Me, who was at the last place in the beginning, was now crossing everyone one-by-one.
